HOW CHEFABLES WORKS WITH CACFP/SFSP

Chefables understands that the two programs have different age groups and focus areas – depending on the time of year. We are very versed on the CACFP program and how it relates to the needs of 0-5 YO in congregate settings. We are also very versed on the nuances and needs of the SA youth in our after-school and camp programs. The Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) and the Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) are federal programs that provide reimbursements for nutritious meals and snacks in congregate setting and afterschool programs, and summer camps. At Chefables, we embrace this initiative with gusto, ensuring every meal we provide under CACFP or SFSP meets or surpasses the program’s nutritional standards. Here’s how we excel:

OUR UNIQUE APPROACH

Through the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) or the Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) we are focused on serving children and youth in various settings, offering nutritional support to ensure they have access to healthy meals and snacks. Specifically, CACFP/SFSP provides food to:

- Children in early childhood development settings, head start and EHS, SPS settings

- After School Programs

- Infants and children in emergency shelters / programs

- Summer Camp and other programs

We offer a broad array of food service options to our children and youth participating in our programs. We have an amazing breakfast, lunch, snack and supper program that can be tailored to the needs of each agency/department/site/classroom. During the school year (for our after-school programs) and year round (without break) for our children in HS, EHS, SPS, we offer a vibrant CACFP food program with all components and up-to-date compliance with the changing food regulations. For our summer programs and camps we pivot our school-age youth to the SFSP program and we understand the important and unique differences of these programs.
